Extrusion cutting and downstream equipment manufacturer Gillard (Tewkesbury, UK) has introduced a circular blade cutter designed to cut stainless-steel-wire-braided PTFE and rubber hose. The new Braid-Cut HD machine can handle hose with outer diameters up to 50 mm.
Wire-braided hoses are typically used for high-pressure hydraulic applications in the automotive and aeronautical industries. Cut-end quality is very important, said Gillard in a press release. The hose end is typically terminated with a ferrule clamping cap, and any loose wire obstructs the ferrule and can create a potential leak issue.
